Turkish Delight in Three Takes (2024)

UV print on aluminum. Triptych. 40 cm x 60 cm each.

Turkish Delight in Three Parts is a remake of the 2008 piece, Sometimes Mr. Metzel, A Candy Is Just A Candy. Presented as a triptych, the work explores the semiotics of race and representation through the relationship between the sign, signifier, and signified. Arranged in a sequence of three parts, the piece captures the process of meaning-making and how these meanings are circulated to shape public opinion. The triptych premiered at OnCurating at ZHdK in Zurich, curated by Elif Carrier, and was later included at the 11th Bucharest Biennial (2024).
