Human Landscapes From My Country (2013)

Titled after Nazim Hikmet Ran’s epic poem, this transmedia performance was written in solidarity with the concurrent Gezi Uprising in Turkey in 2013. Combining poetry with performance, multilingual translation, and live musical improvisation, Human Landscapes evoked the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the revolutionary spirit within the currency of Gezi Movement.

Play written by Vuslat Demirkoparan Katsanis and Ilknur Demirkoparan in 2013.  Live piano improvisation and computer-mixed music written and performed by Renee T. Coulombe.

Performed by Imge Akcakaya, Senem Aktuccar, Ilknur Demirkoparan, Vuslat Demirkoparan.
